Contract symbols

Send the root, the month code and the year: MNQZ2026 is the Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100, December 2026. A 2-digit year (MNQZ26) works too. EZPZ Trader converts the symbol to each broker's own format.

Don't send continuous symbols

TradingView's continuous symbols such as NQ1! or MNQ1! are not converted to a contract. Send the exact contract. In Pine Script, syminfo.current_contract gives you the contract behind a continuous chart.

Rolling to the next contract

EZPZ Trader doesn't roll positions for you. Before a contract expires, close it or roll it yourself. After a roll, exit signals must name the new contract, because that's the position the broker holds.

Position size

Futures can only be sized by a fixed number of contracts. Dollar amount, risk and percent-of-equity sizing are refused for futures, because margin and buying power for futures depend on the broker. Fractional contracts don't exist, so quantities are always whole.

Take profit and stop loss

For futures, an amount is a distance in price points, not dollars:

  • Enter MNQ at 25,000 with a take profit amount of 100 → take profit at 25,100.
  • 100 points on MNQ is worth $200 per contract ($2 a point).

A percent is a percent of the entry price. A P&L amount is dollars for the whole position, converted to points with the contract's point value. Every price is rounded to the contract's tick size.

Trading hours

Futures follow CME Globex: Sunday 18:00 to Friday 17:00 ET, with a daily break from 17:00 to 18:00. Grains (ZC, ZS, ZW) have their own two daily sessions. There's no extended-hours setting for futures. A signal that arrives while the market is closed is queued for the next open.

Market orders around news

Around big news (CPI, FOMC, jobs data), an exchange can briefly stop accepting market orders. A broker may then reject a Market order. Avoid holding over major announcements, or be ready to manage the position by hand.
