How to read this table

This table is built from the same rules the subscription form and the order pipeline use, so it always matches what you can actually choose.

  • Take profit / stop loss: whether they can be attached to the entry at the broker. TP + SL together means the broker needs both, not one alone.
  • Extended hours: stock orders before 9:30 and after 16:00 ET.
  • Fractional: quantities below one share or coin, with Allow fractional quantity on.
  • Quotes: whether EZPZ Trader can read a price from this broker. Without quotes, a Limit or Stop order needs a price in the signal, and a Market order is sent without one.

Crypto is long only on every broker. Options are traded as single-leg contracts.

Broker notes

  • Sign-ins expire. Some brokers end the API session after a while (for example every couple of weeks). Reconnect the account when its status says so; your subscriptions stay as they are.
  • Reconnect needed. When a broker stops accepting a connection (a revoked key, a changed password, an ended sign-in), the account shows Reconnect needed and its owner gets one email. Signals still try the broker, but fail until you reconnect. On the connection's settings page, use Reconnect (sign-in brokers) or Reconnect with new keys (API-key brokers): the same connection is updated, so subscriptions and history stay.
  • Schwab ends every sign-in after 7 days, whatever we do. You get an email the day before; reconnect then to keep trading without a gap. ETRADE ends sign-ins every midnight Eastern, so it shows Reconnect needed* without an email.
  • One order at a time. Some brokers handle orders for one account one after another, so many signals at once can take longer to place.
  • Broker rejections. A broker can still reject an order for its own reasons (buying power, a restricted symbol, its own risk checks). The broker's message is shown on the signal's page. Contact your broker if it isn't clear.

Interactive Brokers

  • Stocks only. IBKR's Web API trades stocks; options, futures and crypto aren't available through it.
  • One trade at a time per account. IBKR takes one order at a time, so trades on the same IBKR account run one after another, whatever the symbol.
  • Trailing stops. Trailing Stop works as an entry or exit order type, and as the stop loss attached to an entry (trail by % or $).
  • Market orders while the market is closed go to IBKR straight away and wait there for the open. Other order types wait in EZPZ Trader until the market opens.
  • One session per username. Use a dedicated IBKR username for EZPZ Trader. Logging in to TWS or the IBKR mobile app with the same username takes the session away; EZPZ Trader takes it back within a minute, or straight away with Start session on the connection's page.
  • Nightly reset. IBKR's API is unavailable for a while around 23:45–01:00 ET. Signals sent then can fail.
  • IBKR LITE accounts can connect, but IBKR refuses API orders on them. Use IBKR PRO.
  • Order confirmations. IBKR can ask to confirm some orders (for example large ones). EZPZ Trader answers them, but turning them off in TWS (Global Config → Presets → Stocks, all fields 0) avoids delays.
  • Quotes: for now, send a price in the signal for Limit and Stop orders on IBKR. Live quotes (IBKR's real-time quote, else EZPZ Trader's own market data) are switched on once they've been checked on a real IBKR account.
  • Order history: IBKR only lists today's orders, so older orders can't be read back from IBKR.

Webull

  • Live accounts, stocks only. Webull's paper account isn't offered.
  • Connecting. Sign in with Webull and approve access, or use an App Key and App Secret from Webull's API Management page (ask Webull support to enable it if it's missing). With your own key and 2FA on, confirm the code Webull texts within 5 minutes in the Webull app (Menu → Messages → OpenAPI Notifications). EZPZ Trader keeps the connection in use every day, so it doesn't lapse after Webull's 15 idle days.
  • Order types: Market, Limit, Stop, Stop Limit and Trailing Stop (trail by % or $), Day or GTC. Trailing stops are Day orders only on Webull; a GTC trailing stop is refused with that reason. A trailing stop can't be the attached stop loss.
  • Take profit and stop loss attach to the entry (one or both); the stop loss can be Stop or Stop Limit.
  • Extended hours: Limit orders before 9:30 and after 16:00 ET.
  • Shorting needs a Webull margin account; Webull refuses a short sale on a cash account. When a login has both, EZPZ Trader uses the margin account.
  • Fractional quantities (Market orders of one share or less, worth at least $5, Day only) are switched on once checked on a real Webull account; until then orders go out in whole shares.
  • Quotes come from EZPZ Trader's own market data at no extra cost. Webull's own data needs a separate Webull subscription.
